I am a professionally qualified photographer (Associate of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers) and have been working from a studio in Torquay, South Devon for the past 22 years. I specialise in the sphere of social photography (e.g. weddings, portraits, pets, babies etc.)

Computers and digital imaging are now a strong part of my business and I also worked as a volunteer sysop for Adobe Systems Inc on their CompuServe forum and then on the Adobe User to User forums, helping users of Adobe Photoshop and other related products with any problems they might be experiencing with either the software or their hardware products.

Prior to my photographic career I was a qualified (PhD) research chemist, but left that profession because I disliked intensely the suffering caused to animals in the laboratories where I worked. Photography became a hobby later on and I was a keen amateur who started winning competitions and then had work displayed at several International Salons of Photography and had images printed in several publications including the "Photography of the Year" series.The pinnacle of my career to date was achieved in October 1997 when I received two Awards of Excellence from the Master Photographers Association and one of these images went on to win for me the UK national title of "Master Pictorial & Illustrative Photographer of the Year 1997".
